I have a '74-75 9.9 evinrude outboard. The wheel that the pull cord turns isn't interlocking with the larger one that gets the engine turning. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what they did to fix it.
I'm going to get a new smaller wheel for the pull...

I have a 6 hp evinrude and a 9.9 and don't know the years on them.
The model number for the 9.9 is 10424S, and the serial is E0007278.
I only have the serial for the 6 because the plate is gone. It's J3063748...

I have a 9.9 evinrude I think from mid eighties that has a problem with the pull cord wheel and the main wheel interlocking. The guy started it for me and I watched it run, but when I tried it today I heard a scary noise after two or three pulls.

I have an old 6 h.p. evinrude and have no idea what year it is. It still runs perfect and starts every time. It's one of the models with the white covers and green foot and from the looks of it, it's over twenty years old.
It came with a john boat I got, but I already have...
I know that I don't have much info but... I haven't seen the engines yet; the guy said he doesn't know if they run. Worst case scenario for both, which one would end up being more expensive? (estimate?) Was there anything fundamentally flawed in one of their designs? What should I check for...
