I live in Nebraska and was fishing a 25 acre sand pit lake. It's deepest point is around 17 feet. The weather here is starting to warm up. A few 40's and 50's lately. We had a 65 degree day Saturday so I went out fishing. It was extremely windy. The water surface temp was 47. The only fish I saw...
Having trouble with sea king motor. It ran fine back in october. It sounds like it's not firing on both cylinders. Spark plugs look ok, but have a little carbon on them. I took it out the other day and eye-balled the oil mixture. (24 to 1) Maybe I added too much oil. I put some stabil in it...
I have a Hummingbird TCR-ID-1. When I hit the power button it beeps and the screen says SELF TEST. The thing keeps beeping and I can't turn it off. I have to take the head unit off the base to get it to stop. If I hold the power button down, it'll go into a demo mode. What could possibly be...
Just finished completely redoing a 14' alumacraft into a fishing boat. I installed a livewell and pump. My question is, why won't the pump operate now. I didn't level the pump. I flush mounted it to the hull which has a slight angle on it. Am I getting an airlock due to the downward angle intake...
Haven't done much snooping around inside the boat... Can you point me in the direction of a plate or date stamp of manufacturer's date? It is a 14' jon boat.
My engineer told me today a different prop may give a bit more power. Is this true? It appears to be an original prop that has two blades. Do you guys recommend a prop if it can be changed? Maybe something cost effective for this old motor.
My sea king is drawing water through the fin above the prop. This is where my lower unit splits. Should there be a gasket there? Can I just use some sealer if so? Am I doing any harm to the outboard running it like this? It should draw water from just above the prop through the inlet, correct?
Really excited about my new fishing vessel. It's a 14' Alumacraft with a 5hp Sea King. Took it out with the grandfather in law yesterday. Not much luck. Saw a 20+" dead walleye on the bank...
Hello all! This is my first post here at iboats.com. My lower unit has a call out for "hypoid" oil. I drained it last night and need to fill it back up. It was somewhat milky, so I imagine there is a leak somewhere. I need to know exactly which oil to refill with. I have an idea, but I don't...
