When hooking up the two yellow wires and the grey tach. wires do they need to go onto the rectifier a certain way. I mean can you hook up either yellow wire to the a/c sides of the rectifier? Thanks.
Does anyone know what the A/C voltage should be coming off the two yellow stator wires on a 1986 90hp inline six merc? I get 99 volts at WOT without the red positive wire hooked up to the rectifier. When I do hook the red wire up it will not run at wot. Any ideas?

Would a bad rectifier cause my 86 90hp merc to miss when I throtttle up past 1k rpm's? Mine tests bad and I am wondering if this could be my problem. The stator and trigger assembly ohms out good. Thanks
