I have a 1989 Tracker 16' Deep-V with a 9.9 Evinrude with remote. I am thinking about replacing this motor. Do I have to stay with Evinrude/Johnson to keep my orginal remote and cables or can I switch to another brand outboard? Also will a 2002 evinrude outboard work with my 1989 remote. Thanks...

I am trying to get more power out of my evinrude 9.9 hp. I have heard that I can change the carb and or reeds. Is it worth it, or is that the most I will get out of that motor
