    I am getting ready to put my powerhead back together, and was wondering what to use to pre-lube the needle bearings on my rods and crank ? Someone said they heard to use a good grade of petroleum jelly if i didnt have needle bearing grease thanks

    Cause of Piston Scoring ?

    the engine is an 87 model 48 HP evinrude, when i bought it, it would idle on the hose, but idled rough, when in the water, it would not idle at all, and would go from almost dieing to raceing up to around 3k RPM's i thought it was a carb issue so I started there, and thats how i ended up here
