is there a way to make a swim platform fold up by using a hinge? I haven't seen this around and would seem to be a good invention as it would save boat owners money at the marina by decreasing the overall length charged for a slip.

I'd like to change the rather tired looking mouldings on my boat. They are theones that are used to trim the cabinets and such. Are there any concerns about what type of wood or plastic that I may replace them with as this is a marine application? If I use wood, I am planning to poly urethane...
