Here's an odd one. 88 470, starts and runs great on muffs, starts and runs great on the water for approximately 30-45 minutes then randomly will start to sputter, slowly lose RPMS, then die. If i let it sit for 20-30 mins it will start back up and run for a little bit again, then the same...
So I solved the issue. I got a larger gauge wire to run off the ground terminal and ensured it was run to a confirmed good ground. Boom, charging. I talked to Breeze Works and he said out of thousands he's sold he's only had 1 or 2 that didn't actually ground through the bracket and block. Go...
The black wire is hooked to the + terminal on the coil which, with the key on, is getting ~11.2-5V of power (its getting power from the choke). I am getting 12v to the red wire all the time. By charge terminal, yes the orange wire. Im going to try running 12v directly to the black wire off the...
I ran a ground wire from the ground post on the alternator to the motor ground. Still no go. At this point im going crazy, only option I can think of is trying a new alternator? Unless there's any other suggestions.
I forgot to note that I have the Pertronix Ignitor setup. Because of this I have 2 cables running to the + side of the coil, one off the choke that I spliced in (to supply constant keyed 12 volt power) and one off of the solenoid. So technically the black wire is getting keyed power. I also...
As the title says. I purchased the Breeze Works 3 wire alternator conversion. I completely disconnected the regulator, taped up the wires, removed the stator and magnets. I have the Red 8 gauge wire running to my starter as well as the red exciter wire, the black wire is going to the positive...
