I have just rebuilt my 68 Evinrude lark x 40 electro shift gearbox and noted that on disassembly there was a large o ring that sits on top of the water pump housing plus there is also a smaller o ring that sits on the drive shaft.
My question is where on the shaft is the smaller o ring...

I seem to have a slight leak from my lower gearbox, I have replaced the lip seal already and replaced the O rings on the retaining bolts but seem to still have a slight leak.
Are the original o ring seals a special part or just standard O rings?
