How did you remove the plug on the water? And did you have another one? Not sure if I can get the plug out without ruining it... Definitely would save some time though.
Also, I took off the first section of the fuel pump, found a mesh screen in that part, which looked very clean. So if that's the fuel filter, it's not dirty.
My evinrude is a 1998 25hp outboard. If it has a fuel filter I can't find it. The fuel line runs to this (see photo), which I'm guessing is the fuel pump, and maybe the fuel filter is incorporated into that? In any case, I can remove and clean the carb while I'm here if necessary, and if...
