hi all,<br />1975 70 hp Evinrude had severe shock prob. it looks like it was a combination rectifier red lead grounding out and something in the key switch. went out all day in fresh water and had no prob. going to go out in salt soon and see if all is well. only thing now is a little rough idle...
outboard ran fine in saltwater 1st time. ever since has an electrical short that shocks you when you touch anything in boat when running. rectifier had problem, changed, some improvement but still shocks in saltwater. have not tried freshwater. engine misses at high rpm...<br /><br />thanks...
