I went to Marina tonight and boats i looked had the bunks just outside the strakes instead of just inside like I’ve done on this trailer. Are the bunks being just inside the strakes an issue or am I ok? I’ll buy a 4x4 or do 2x4 on side to do my bunks on to raise bunks on trailer up if they need...
My primary concern isn’t noise. Really just want to fish. I put some 3/4 inch plywood over the top of the back of the boat so I could just fish this year and not worry about redoing flooring in summer. It’s worked out so well I’ve really considered not redoing floors. That being said I want...
I have a 1987 smoker craft magnum 165. It’s a nice boat and I only paid $500 for it. I’ve fished it all summer and It is a good boat for my needs. I have been looking at Lund fury 1600 and boats similar but I can’t justify 20k when my boat now works just fine.
My boat is in need of new flooring...
I think I got it! I moved the bunks just inside the keel/stringers things and seems to launch and I launch super easy. Raises it just enough no issues in very shallow water. That roller upfront gets bow up just a little.
I’ve been looking online and there really ain’t a bolster small enough to do what I’m hoping for. Doubling up the 1x4 or 2x4 on the bunks seems to be the easiest plan.
What do we think about this: from stern to now
Leaving bunks as is at stern mount at transom, mounting 1x4 under middle set is hardware, mounting 2x4 under furthest to bow hardware to create angle.
