This trolling motor has lost its first and second speed. From what I hear this is a common problem with this unit. Im assuming that its the speed switch that needs replacing (under the foot pedal). Could it be something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi- I have a 70 thrust 5 speed motor guide trolling motor. It is only 2 years old. My problem is: settings 1 and 2 do not work, zero power. Would this be an electrical hookup problem or a problem with the unit? Setting 3,4, and 5 work great. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hi- Having trouble with my old '87 bass tracker (merc 150) steering crooked. Its not really bad but its hard to keep straight going at a slow idle. Is there any adjusting I can do on the fin to correct this problem? Thanks for any feedback. Heard some great things about this site. thanks
