    That’s a good suggestion. ordered an RPM meter on Amazon and will test it soon.

    I timed it and it’s on the spot however just to make sure i made it off by few degrees up and down and no results

    My engine RPM doesn’t go above 4000 psi while in neutral. When in gear it tops as 3600 -3700 and and as soon as I push the throttle more , you can hear the throttle opens and makes the "air hungry" noise but the spark cuts at 4000 rpm while in neutral and stays there back and forth around 4000...

    Hello I am not sure if the members are still active after 12 years from the last post… I have a 5.8 OMC , Ford block, FSI My engine RPM doesn’t go above 4000 psi while in neutral. When in gear it tops as 3600 -3700 I replaced the distributor cap and the floater arm but still the same results...

    Greatly appreciate the response. I have found the engine’s manual but still no luck with the boat. Chris Craft website says they don’t have manuals for anything older than 2001 Thanks!

    I have recently purchased a 96 Chris Craft Crowne with 5.8 Volvo Penta which is in great shape for its age . However I can’t find any user manual online to read about under the hood information. Also is there any user manual for the Volvo engine and outdrive? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
