    Have a 82 40hp merc. Hit a log the other day and cupped one blade over. Is it possible to us a rubber mallet to pound it back in place, or will it snap off when I pound it. Its not stainless steel I think its Alum.

    Starter bracket broke off block

    The subject says it all. I have been told different things about this. First the say the moter is pretty much toast, others say it can be welded. The moter runs great but I have to take the cover off to start it since there is no recoil on the hood. What I'd like to know is has anyone heard of...
