    Trim hoses, alpha one

One of the hoses to the trim cylinders is leaking at the fitting (where the fitting is crimped onto the hose). The hoses I have are covered with stainless mesh. Has anyone replaced these external hoses and where did you obtain them? Is the steel mesh necessary? 1988 model Alpha One.

    Thanks to all

I just got back from a day of cruising and just wanted to thank everyone here at the Mercruiser iboats forum who helped me in the last few months with my impeller change and fixing the trim/tilt. This is a great group of people. I try to help when I can and know others here have more...

I put in a new water pump and am about to slide the lower half back onto the upper. Which direction (clockwise or counter) should I turn the shift shaft in the front of the lower half to be sure it is in forward? Thanks.

    Lake Hartwell, SC/12 mile

The wife and I are planning to tow the boat up to Clemson on May 29 for the weekend. Our son is a student at the University and he and his friends want to ski, wakeboard, etc. Does anybody have any information about the boat launch at 12 mile?

    Oil Filter lesson learned

Well, you guys can let me have it, but I had to be towed a few weeks ago because my oil filter rusted through and left me with no oil (well, oil in the bilge:eek:). I put it on new this past spring when I changed the oil in the 3.0. It was the Pure One Purolator: the yellow one with the...

    Mercruiser Alpha Tilt Manual

I happened to download the PDF for the Alpha Tilt Manual and have a copy on my hard drive. PM me if you would like a copy emailed to you. I suspect that most of the Mercruiser PDFs are on our computers.

    tighten starter bolts

This is a word to the wise which I learned the hard way. Tighten the bolts holding the starter to your block occasionally. Mine loosened a little allowed some vibration to fracture them in the block. After some drilling with a 90 degree drill and Sears broken stud removers and some patience...
