Hey guys for some reason my 69 Mercury isn't reversing it does seem to have forward. I did change the impeller and I don't know for sure if it had reverse after that or not. If I put it in neutral prop spins both ways if I put it in reverse prop is difficult to spin to the right but clicks...

does a 69 Merc 800 thunderbolt have a thermostat? Trying to figure out why its not peeing just replaced impeller and housing/gaskets etc. Any suggestions?

I replaced the impeller and water pump housing and put everything back together seems as if after it warms up (on the muffs) it wants to idle way up after it warms up...and then it will die, if you go and squeeze the primer bulb its soft and gas will come right out of the carbs. Not for sure...
1969 merc 800 pulled off lower unit to replace water pump, all went well, went to put it back on and it was difficult to get back on. I was able to spin prop slowly and progress throttle forward until it slid on. Now it seems like it wont go in natural... even with the throttle in the neutral...

Boat set for a couple years ran when it was put away now it has no spark to the plugs or to the coil. The serial number is 2561378. I appreciate any help. thanks guys
