my mercury 150 s steering is very tight. the guy i bought it from suggested it needed new cables. Is it cables that I need or rack n pinion? how can I troubleshoot it. if i do need cables how do i find out what size i need? Any comments will help, i am a new power boater.
i tried to install lower unit, thought everything was fine until i checked reverse. no movement in prop clockwise or counterclockwise. the manual says it should move 1/3 each way. in forward , the prop clockwise ratchets.can someone help me out please. thanks
