I think that the issue is that where the back of the splash well meets the transom they used resin to join them together. Which of that's the case I'm guessing you would have to cut out that second of splash well and re do it once the cap is off.
Maybe this cap has been off at some point in its life but I have enough of a gap between the cap and hull that I can see in between the the cap and hull to the top edge of the rear of the hull and I see no sealant. The sides of the hull are loose enough that I can get my fingers over the top...
The sealant on this boat was on the outside under edge of the rub rail which 95% of it come off as I pulled the rub rail. There wasn't anything for sealant under the rail. Thanks
