I currently have a '88? Mercury 175 HP EFI Black Max (S#0250967) and looking at buying a '89 150 HP "XR4 Magnum II" Black Max (S#0B303951) for parts, hopefully. My 175 may be an "XR4 Magnum" as well, not sure.
Any chance alot of the parts between the 2 are...
Just installed brand new water pump kit, 2 new thermostats & new water line hoses due to high temp alarm I had last week, but now water is coming out of poppet valve weep hole, after installing these new cooling system parts.
I did take the poppet valve apart after I installed new water pump...
