I have a OMC Duratank 6 gallon for my 1999 Johnson 25 HP outboard. Having trouble starting, doesn't seem to be getting fuel. The male connection on the tank looks like it is missing the little pin that pushes in on the tank-side connector. See pic. Is this repairable/replaceable? I would...
It has sat in my front yard for the past 3 years. It was a covid project that I never finished. Starting up that project again to get running to sell it. The engine had some old gas in it and I wanted to clean it all out and connect to fresh fuel before I try to start it.
I have a 1999 Johnson 25HP J25EEED. I am cleaning my carb and went on-line to check all the parts and saw this diagram. Part #4 is a welch (core) plug. On my carb, I have a screen in that spot (see blue arrow). Am I missing a welch plug? There is one on the inside of the carb on that side...
I thought it would be an easy swap too! I couldn't find any markings on the fuel gauge to help identify it, but the tach has a teleflex model # on on it. I believe the old sender is a Rochester (big R on the side) 8341-7000, which shows as 30-240 ohms so my new sender should be compatible.
I get no ohms from the old sender. This is what I bought. Good reviews and many reviews said it was a simple swap with the old one.

My fuel gauge has not worked for a while now. I finally had time to check it. I followed lots of online instructions and came up with a faulty sender. I checked voltage at the gauge, it was fine. I jumped the two wires on the sending unit and the gauge moved to full. I also jumped the S to...
Model J25EEED. This motor hasn't been run in 4 or 5 years and I want to get it going. I am not the original owner. I am not that familiar with boat motors but I have time and tools so I am willing to try almost anything. Boat was always run in salt water.
So far I have:
- put in new sparks...
One problem and one question. I have a new Yamaha 150 4 stroke. I haven't started it in about 3 weeks. I tried to start it this weekend and I got nothing. No sound, no clicks, no electronics worked either.

I read JB's "outboard won't start" faq and it said to measure the voltage...
A friend is looking to sell his boat with a 1998 Suzuki 140hp engine. I don't know how many hours on it.

Anything I should be aware of/look for when I have the engine inspected and tested?
