    i have a 1989 40 horse rude. its blew up. i am going to get a used motor. question: what all motor will just bold right up and use the shift cables and all other wires? isnt there a 35,40,48 and 50 and 60 that will go right on it? and what year range? thanks!

    do i need this rubber seal?

    when i put my lower unit back on the seal popped off but i did not see it until the thig was back to gether. do i need it on there. 89 40 horse rude.

    question!!!

    i put my lower unit back on and to my surprise, the little rubber piece that the shift rod goes through pop off and was laying there. is this piece neccessary? i dont see where it seals anything and the bottom of it is clean. if not i have to take the whole thing apart again!!

    shift rod removal!!

    89 40 horse rude. i have an overheating problem. i bought an impeller. im going to try myself. the bolt is up under the carbs. would it be best to take the carbs off to do this? any tips or advice?thanks
