I just had a newly rebuilt Yamaha excel 175hp installed on my chris craft. I bought the motor from a friend who is a boat broker and had a local mechanic install it. Since the mechanic didnt rebuild the motor he wont warranty the rebuild so i am trying to see if i can figure out the problem...
I got a fantastic deal on an newly rebuilt 175 yamaha thru a friend. the only problem is it appears to have a 20' shaft and i have a 25" transom. Can i use a jack plate to accomidate my transom? Has anyone done this?Or should i be looking into a shaft extension kit?
