    89 Evinrude 140 stator questions

    My cranking battery is newer but doesnt hold a charge long when starting motor after moving around the lake a couple times it gets weak my question is isnt the motor supposed to charge the battery while its running by the stator if not what can I hook up to the motor to charge the starting...

    Starter & selenoid problems

    Ok so I have an 89 evinrude 140 v4 when I turn the key the selenoid just clicks and the wires from starter to selenoid and to battery get very hot and start to smoke I believe one of the two are failling but not sure which one any advice would be appreciated thanks
