I just got a boat off my buddy who took the lower off and I'm havin a hard time getting the steering cable back into place. It's a 1977 crestliner with a 5 liter OMC cobra. Is there an easier way that I'm not seeing or what? If anyone has done this before I would appreciate some guidance. Thanks!
Was wondering if there is anyone who has jimmyd together mercury trim cylinders from a '79 with a 1973 johnson 115. Is it possible that i could aluminum MIG weld brackets to the outside of the mount instead of putting cylinders inside of would this be too much force to put on the mount?:confused:
I just bought a '73 115 johnson dd not have LU. I found a donor '76 85 hp evinrude for the lower and spare parts. n e way i cranked it over just by touching battery cable to the starter to check compression and spark. both were good. the motor only had spark if i had the control hooked up...
again, can someone please tell me if the lower unit on a 1974 Powershift II 115 Hp johnson can be switched with that of a later year and not Powershift?
