Converting Roller trailer to bunks for my Starcraft 161

That Trailer looks like it uses a lot of EZLoader Hardware from the late 70s. Is there an EZLoader Distributor near you?

    Cars you should have kept.

Hmm, it rode like a Car should, the 455 could move it fairly well, especially if the Factory 2.56:1 rear axle was changed to a 2.73 or 2.93. Mine had the Heavy Duty Brake Option. As for Rust, it took over 10 yrs before any appeared on mine. Of course we didn't have Muttonheads Salting the Roads...

    Cars you should have kept.

What didn't you like about it. I had one, it was a decent Car, even ran with the Engine Bay jammed full of Snow, after a night in late April 85. Was running when I took the Pic

    Cars you should have kept.

My 1st Caddy. 86 Fleetwood Brougham, with the D' Elegance Option Have had 5 more since, but they certainly weren't/aren't as Comfortable. The Ex had a Caddy before me, and the seats in hers were even nicer

1969--85hp Starflite, model 85993E possible carb swap?

I'm partial to NGK. The ones that came in my 1984 115 Merc, were still in it, with about 600hrs on them when I traded it in in 1998. As for Champion, I wouldn't them even if a Gun where to my head, unless there was no other choice

    Johnson CD-12 5.5HP

There is nothing that grounds the Ignition as the Throttle is turn to stop. It is simply the Retarded Spark that Kills the Motor. Go over your work again. Is there a chance you have shorted the Points to Ground?

1969--85hp Starflite, model 85993E possible carb swap?

In the Mid 70 and 80s, a lot of Owners were trying to swap the Other Way. I will admit it is a Pain to Adjust 4 Idle Mixture Needles, and the Fixed Jets eliminated that, but if you boated higher than Sea Level, the Idle Mix was too Rich, and often made for a Cantankerous Motor.

    Oil selection

The Marine Industry does have a Cert Standard for 4 Stroke Oils. FC-W. A lot of the Marine Engines, at least those with Raw Water Cooling do operate at lower Temps than a Car/Truck Engine, thereby subjecting the Oil to a Different set of Parameters. Of course there are those that think Oil is...
