I felt like I was leaning this way initially and was the reason I asked on this forum. Looks like the VRO debate has no clear answer and its really just a personal choice type thing.
150 gallons is huge I'm only talking about a 12 gallon tank but 28 years has me scratching my head again. Being a 1988 motor I was thinking I would get an overwhelming get rid of it based on the age of the motor alone. I know the pump was replaced once already but I don't know when.
Im in the process of getting the motor off the boat and onto a stand I built for it. I will take a look for a serial number. So if its the newer version would it not variable and just mixing at 50:1? Thanks
This VRO is the 3 wire version if that makes a difference? I Think VRO2 came out later but im not sure. I'm not a mechaniac by any stretch buy pretty handy so could youtube my way throught taking it apart and maybe understanding it more. Seems to be no middle ground on this one.

Thx airshot, I do like the the idea of adding extra support. I will be using 8 foot bunks. I will counter sink and bolt through every 16 inches to attach the 2x3 on edge. Will carpet the bunk boards and attach them to the trailer using a bunk bracket kit that fits my cross members.

Ok, thats great, thank you all that makes me feel better. Sounds like I should just order a bunk bracket kit remove the rollers and old brackets all together and call it a day. Would anyone recommend 2x6 or 2x8 bunks for the 6 foot distance between cross members. I think I'd feel more...
