    Opinions on the 115HO vs standard.

    I've got an opportunity to buy a new in box 2009 115hp HO for $500 over a 2010 standard etec. What would you guys do? It's going on a 17.5' Alumacraft. Going to use it for general fishing and pulling kids on the tubes. Thoughts? Appreciate them all! Thanks!

    99 Ficht 115hp rebuild or junk

    Short story: 115hp 1999 Evinrude Ficht, 220 total hours, less than 20# compression in top two cylinders. Observed cylinder wall scoring. Repair estimate: $3800, new 115hp engine around $12k. Ive searched the forum for info, see below. Good or bad idea to repair given negative info on this...
