    Oil Pressure Alarm

They said the oil pressure sensor is bad. I have another one sitting on my dresser at home but I’m trying to confirm which one they are talking about. The one that connects to the blue and brown wire just below the exhaust manifold on the port side that’s skinny or the short “fat” one that...

    Oil Pressure Alarm

The original serial is wrong. It’s 1A633081. They’re both 4.3, I just got the numbers mixed up.

    Oil Pressure Alarm

Is this the reservoir mounted on the front of the engine, in front of the exhaust manifold?

    Oil Pressure Alarm

First: they said the oil pressure was within spec on the boat gauge and manual gauge and engine runs great. Second: they might not have filled up the fluids other than the oil when they tested it as they were confirming the harness work so I’ll bring that up to them. They don’t have techs that...

    Oil Pressure Alarm

They tested the oil pressure with it running and it’s within spec, it’s just the alarm. Since my insurance company requires no alarm mechanisms activated, they have to get the alarm to stop.

    Oil Pressure Alarm

Both were complete Mercruiser engines, only thing missing was the connector from engine to hull. Both carbureted. Original serial is 1A066831 and new is 1G415169. Nothing from the original engine was saved

    Oil Pressure Alarm

The shop is working on getting my new to me motor installed (2019 Mercruiser 4.3) and is having an oil pressure alarm issue. The original motor was a TKS and it’s being replaced with an engine without TKS (bought the engine with 5 verified hours for $1600 instead of $11,000 from mainland). The...

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

Well, I finally got the answers to why it wouldn’t start. Water intrusion in cylinder three from a failed exhaust manifold. I found a reman locally for $1600 and had it inspected, new exhaust manifolds and installed and they finished up this morning. Still have to diagnose a tilt/trim issue but...

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

It uses the existing coil wire. It’s the in-line style. The plugs and plug wires are new. I replaced them when I put the Delco EST ignition system in last month. What I find is weird is that there’s no power to the purple wire for the fuel pump but there’s power everywhere else along that wire.

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

I will get one tomorrow. Do you happen to know how it is supposed to be connected?

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

However, when I use a spark tester, i get a steady blue spark. I started testing some of the wires and tracing them, and I’m not getting any power on the purple wire at the plug to the fuel pump.

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

So I tested the coil like you said, and my timing light does not flash at all when cranking.

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

I have 12 volts on the purple wire with the key on.

    4.3 Mercruiser Crank, No Start

Gauge is only maxed out with key on. I inspected the harness and there’s no corrosion at the 10-pin plug, and all the female connections look good. I do own a timing light
