    1960 seahorse 10hp impeller check

    I fired up the 10hp yesterday and it seems its not spitting out water at all so I shut off the motor right away. I know where the impeller is but how can I check to make sure its spinning? When replacing the impeller does it need to be put in a certain way?

    I bought some Johnson/Evinrude HI-VIS gearcase lube for my 99 4hp johnson motor. Can I use this same gearcase lube for my 1960 Johnson Seahorse 10 motor?

    99 johnson 4hp to plane boat

    I have a 12ft aluminum row boat with a 4hp Johnson. the boat does not plane unless i sit in the middle of the boat. How can i get it to plane sitting in the back seat where the motor is?

    I beleive the model number is QD-21 on this motor. I ordered a rebuild carb kit for this motor but wasn't sure of the oil/gas ratio? can I use a plastic tank with this motor? It also has a glass bowl at the bottom of the carb. there is a metal round piece in there.. should that be all the...

    Does anyone know the mix ratio for my 99 4hp johnson? The date on the motor is 07/98 and i was told it was a 99?
