Ok this is helping. I should plan on the heavier load outings and I think a modern design merc 17p is my best option. Really need something that keeps its bite when working thru the rough stuff but still have top end improvement over my current.

Qb thank you. Sounds like the Tempest would be a tough one to nail down without testing at least three pitches and that that won't work in my situation.
Did the 19 tempest have lower top rpm than the 20 enercia? I think that's what you meant but making sure it was not the other way around.
