    Went out for a run last evening and the motor just stopped wasn't running hard or anything.Motor will not turn over completely. Think a carb plugged up and motor went bang. Any tips on tear down and rebuild would be appricated heading out now to remove heads and inspect. Thanks Jim

    1987 Mercury XR2 want to replace all the waterlines on the heads

    Having slight seepage when it was running out of all the water hose fitting on top of the heads is there a specific size and do they sell in bulk also the line are attached with zip ties is that sufficient? Thanks Jim

    1987 Mercury 150 XR2 no spark

    Just purchased this boat knowing it had some issues. It is a Mercury xr2 1987 150hp I did not have spark on 2,4and 6. I switched stator wire as discussed in other threads and still no spark. I replaced the switchbox which i thought was bad it gave me spark for a moment then no spark again...
