I have 5.0l (305) LX Mercruiser, The owners manual says that you MUST use Quicksilver oil, so the question is : Can i use synthetic oil or some other oil, and what is a good weight. Also does anyone know what the LX in 5.0l LX means?

I have a 1994 Wellcraft, im trying to figure out if the fuel tank is made of Fiberglass or Polypropelyne (did i spell that right?) Anyway it looks like either or, does anyone out there know for sure? Or how I can determine?
My main concern is its reactivity to ethanol in the fuel...
HEllo again guy's....does anyone know if i have a Rochester 4 barrel carb on my 5.0LX mercruiser? It does say Quadrojet on the throttle side of the carb.
And where can i buy a reliable rebuilt or a rebuild kit without paying too much? I see a bunch of rebuilt carb sources online including ebay...

I recently purchased a 1994 21' wellcraft eclipse SE. The engine ran great the first few outings both at low and wide open (although it was a little hard starting). On the fourth outing she stalled out and i could not restart it.
