I have a 1969 6 hp outboard that was running good until one cylinder stopped working. So I order new coils, points and condensers. I put all the new stuff in and one coil was not sitting right on the base which caused the flywheel to jam up. I disassembled it all again and filed down the coil...
I bought new points kit and it comes with 2 capsules of Oil....what do I put it on? Anyone Know?????
Also I noticed a felt pad that rubs on the drive shaft just behind a coil does this pad need to be oiled while I am changing the points, condenser and coils?

I have a 1969 evinrude 6 hp outboard and when I was out fishing today one cylinder was not firing on the way back (the bottom cylinder).
I am trying to figure out what the problem is? I put in a new spark plug and no spark. Top cylinder has spark bottom one does not. Motor runs on one...
