I was wondering if it is normal for the shift cable to be so tight between the outdrve and transom
When its in the upright posistion for towing? Im just worried that something may break!
I mean when I reach up under the outdrive and feel the cable,I can move it a little either way but

I have an 86 4.3 cobra I am finishing installing, I have a manual but can't seem to find where
the 2 wires go to coming out of the remote control,I believe its the saftey so the motor won't
start in gear,right now it does start in gear so I need to connect that 2 wires but where?

I got a 86 omc cobra 4.3 runs good just can't get the shiift assist to work!
if I manually activate,or use shifter it doesn't change rpm?

purple wire@ starter 4 volts,+on coil 4 volts, purrple wire connector to esa 11.36

aloha i am ready to cut out my transom hole for my 86 cobra the template
says 14 3/32" from boat bottom this would put the av plate level with the bottom,but the installation instructions recommend the av plate 3/4" from boat bottom,my question is which is better ? if i raise it it would work...
OK! i just got my template for my 86 omc cobra outdrive
my question is do i paste it to the transom once i get it in the right position
and then cut on the line or is there another way of doing it ?
any suggestions would be appreciated!

i have a 1985-86 omc cobra i need a template to cut the hole for my outdrive
i am having trouble finding it ,i was told it is the same template as a volvo sx
drive,but i need to be sure before i cut my newly built transom.
also any info on the process of finding where the leg should be...
