    1977 Evinrude 85hp 85793 slips out of reverse

    Recently installed a water pump in the motor and now when engage in reverse the motor will slip out of gear if you give it too much gas. If you just pull into reverse and stay low rpm it pulls fine. Is the reverse rod too short or do I need to adjust the cables?

    Need help with prop

    I have a 1993 JC Pontoon Suntoon 24ft. It has a 1977 Evinrude 85 hp. The motor runs well and has a 14x13 aluminum prop. At WOT I am only turning 4600 rpm. While it runs good this seems low to me. Is this acceptable for rpm's? If not what recommendations do you have for the prop? Also this motor...

    OMC model 85798S? What is this?

    My Evinrude 85 hp has a model number of 85798S. When I look at the Evinrude application chart it has a 85799, 85793 and 85790. Why is mine not listed?

    Changing 93 Evinrude to 90hp to 77 Evinrude 85 hp

    My 93 Evinrude 90hp went sour on me. I have picked up a 77 Evinrude 85hp and want to know the differences / problems I will encounter changing these two out. I already see the tilt systems are different which stinks cause the 77 tilt does not work. I also see that a shifter cable is different...
