i have a 1979 merc 115 that starts hard, stalls after putting in lake after a minite or so.looses high end. i took to dealer, not sure what problem is, thinks its reed valves! compression all around 120lb. rebuilt carbs,fuel pump.still very hard starting, and dies in lake. fuel lines look ok...
