so I got a used South Bay 22".. I guess the last guy had someone put a car head unit in it. Volume is broke so I wanted to replace it with another head unit I have from another boat.. it has the standard plug on the back, like most marine radios. Problem is that the Clarion that is in this now...

So I looked at the diagram.. watched a couple of videos and from what I can tell I should be able to either detach the gearbox from the bottom the extender or the extender. Then pull a part a bit and find the shift rod connector... but... I dont see it.. I just see the rod.. so do I need to...
