I have a 94' 40hp mecuury tracker on a 17' bass tracker it won't get up on plane just takes off slowly. I was out today with the wife took off and when we got to top speed I was running 4100 rpm with a 22 mph wind at our back on the way back facing the wind 3200 rpm the prop is 13 pitch on it...
The prop I have on it is 13 pitch it's on a 17 foot aluminum bass tracker when I take off it won't raise the bow and plane out like it should it just takes off slowly. Sounds like the motor is wanting to go but the boat don't. Can I fix this with a different pitch prop?

I'm replacing the plastic fitting that is on the side of the boat that the livewell drain hose connects to. Do I need to put silicone or something around that to keep it from leaking?
