i have a 1984 merc 40hp without trim. what i am wondering is there any aftremarket companys other than cnc that have a kit that will work with this motor?,or is there any other make or models that this will interchange to use on mine? any ideas would b a great help,thanks. luke
i am trying to swap an older 84 merc 40hp long shaft with a 73 50hp short shaft. the length diffrence from mounting position to the end is about 6". can i make the 50hp short shaft fit on my boat without cutting into the transome? would a jackplate work to lower the motor enough...
