I just purchased an 18ft Landau pontoon boat with a 1990 48SPL. I need to add a tachometer. I have a few questions: What kind of tach? What pulse setting? Does this motor have an alternator?? Should the tach wire be in the control box or perhaps in the console?

How do you adjust the idle speed on a '97 60hp Merc? I know where the idle mixture screws are, and have adjusted them; it was coughing. <br /><br />But, the idle is about 600rpm and should be a little faster. I have a book - Clymers - but it leaves a lot to the imagination. <br /><br />Thanks
Just bought a boat with built in fuel tank. The fuel gauge, on dash, goes below empty when tank has fuel in it. Can't find a bad connection. Any ideas?
