I can get it idle if I set the timing to about 4 BTDC. It will idle for a few seconds on the hose but not in the water.The engine has NOT been run in the water in about 3.5 years. I just ordered the carb rebuild kits. Any ideas out there of other things I need to check.
The manual says the flywheel nut is 1 7/16" however; the socket I picked up over the weekend won't fit into the flywheel offset to get to the nut. Does anyone know if this is a special socket or maybe the one I picked up has thicker walls then normal, it is a 3/4" drive socket. Opinions welcomed..
I can start the motor and it will run great until you go to idle it down to put it in gear at that point it will shear the flywheel Key. There is no back fire or spitting just shears the key. Any Ideas??? :confused:

I'm just about done with the rebuild of my 94 21' ProLine. I have replaced and closed in the transom to mount the used bracket I bought. Does anyone know the formula for how much to raise the engine for each foot of setback. My bracket's setback is 30".
