    No modification for me to the engine. It is stock as it comes. I haven’t got the spark tester as of yet. I will post when I’ve seen the results. By the way, what is the length of spark I should be looking for. I’ve seen 3/4” and 7/8”. Any clarification is appreciated.

    Yes to both. Spark plugs were recently replaced and the spark was consistently a solid blue spark.

    Hull is spotless. How would I go about checking the power pack or rev limiter without simply replacing them?

    First time poster here... I re-motored an old Bonito 18.5 with an '85 Johnson 140 hp (J140TLCO). I've had it running well for a while, but then it lost the ability to get any kind of speed at WOT. It starts and idles just fine. What I've tried to date: Removed the VRO, and pre-mix my own gas...
