My NWJ 218 lightning has a flaw. when fighting a fish, you are leaning at a pretty good angle when leaning against the gunnel with your toes up against the side of the boat. several times last year, the fisherman fighting the fish had their feet slide out from under them. it is even worse trying...
narrowed the throttle tension down to the 2 springs you see in the pic
any idea on how to lessen the spring tension on these? cables are smooth as are the plastic levers hook to them. these 2 springs are causing my throttle to be extremely tight at the control box. sorry for the big pic.

2005 merc 8hp 4stroke. I have a 20"long shaft and the new boat requires a 25". all extension kits I have found are for 9.9hp and up. I only have maybe 10 hours on this motor so I do not want to trade it in if I don't have to. any ideas? kicker bracket is a welded aluminium bracket so mounting a...
I have been searching and the one thing that I cannot find is, what trim position do you have the motor in to determine cav plate to keel distance. do you trim it all the way in? if so, do you measure the height based on the aft portion of the cav plate? Do you level the motor so the cav plate...

I bought a new boat and am installing a uniflex actuator with a seastar helm. after bleeding the system 4 times, I am still having one issue that concerns me. if I turn the steering wheel to lock on either side, I can apply pressure in the lock direction and the wheel slowly keeps turning. it is...

trying to give something away for free. posted here last night and apparently the post was deleted. where do I go for a free boat part. classifieds on top of page appear to be for selling boats. this is not a boat but is a boat part. If this post gets deleted, please pm me with an explanation as...
I am building a new motor well for my trophy. when I had the new motor hung we built an aluminium transom plate built to accomodate the 25" shaft motor.. will glass stick to the aluminium if I choose to glass to it or do I have to glass to glass. If I use the aluminium, I can gain a foot of deck...
had an unfotunate incident where the boat and trailer came unhooked from the truck. boat then came unhooked from the trailer and went sliding down the freeway at 65mph. thankfully, no major damage and just some glass left on the road. question is, the keel used to be a "U" shape and is now...
