Distributor ignition...
Newer battery fully charged.
Did the "jumper test" across switchbox per CDI website.
Suddenly got spark.
Then...
Ignition switch tested bad...replaced it.
New NGK buhw plugs.
Still intermittent spark.
Jumper...

Have gone to several local hardware and auto stores... NO GO !!!
Problem is I have a non original key with only a Taylor C40 blank number on it...

Was at the parts counter at Bass Pro Shop recently to purchase a fuel pump rebuild kit for my 1977 Merc 1150 and the guy mentioned that the "newer square pump" worked much better than the "old style" pump that I was rebuilding...:confused:
Is there any truth to that statement and are there...

Starts OK...
Idles just a bit rough...but not bad.
Nature of the beast I think...
Mid throttle is OK...
Holeshot is inconsistent though
Next time ou I plan to open the idle screws a bit to see if that helps...
