Been spending time going through the mercruiser stickies section and the amount of information there is incredible, thank you for mentioning it. You're right, a lot of my questions can definitely be answered there . Thank you!
@Scott Danforth I want to mention that I looked at the work you did on your Rogue cruiser. I just wanted to say that the boat is absolutely gorgeous, and that was some awesome work!
Ah ok, I knew that stickies referred to something on the forum. That makes sense, the pinned threads.
You got it. Thanks again, guys. I'll be back when I've drilled into a specific project. In the meantime, I've written down the key things to consider that I've learned from you all.
Broad as it may be, this information is also helpful for me - so thank you. So far, though, my post has proven very useful to me even though it may seem broad to others.
You've made all the key points I was looking for, and I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to share these things with. I agree that nothing can be completed without research, and is always always the most important step to take before making any decisions or purchases. I'm...
I'll understand if the question is too broad and can't really be answered fully! I think Scott here has a lot of the information I'm interested in:
Scott,
This is fantastic information for me, thank you so much. This, I can definitely use if I do decide to do any more work on my Glastron in...
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in writing back - there was a lot going on at work yesterday.
I'm very appreciative of all the responses I've gotten - you guys are a great help! Going back to my post- that's right, it is only a 17 foot boat, and I'm not looking to do anything extreme. To be...
Sure, Chris - thanks!
For the past 7 years I have a 2001 Glastron SX 175 with a Mercruiser 190 HP 4.3L w/ Alpha One drive. I don't plan on selling this boat, but I will be buying a new boat within the next few years as the family continues to grow. Once I buy a new boat, I'll probably begin...
Hello friends,
I hope everyone is having a safe and fun boating season! At some point down the road, I'm sure I'll be doing a boat renovation and I just had a question in anticipation of that (and also if anything should happen to my current engine).
If someone was looking to replace their...
That's true, I'll be sure to do that. Makes sense not to install replacements for something that's still got plenty of life left. Though, I might pick up an extra pair just to hold in case of an emergency. Add it to my "spare parts" bin when out on the water. Murphy's law, and all.
Thanks Bondo! That makes sense. I spoke with the shop that services my engine and the receptionist told me that I could go into any automotive store and find replacements. It seems that wouldn't be the case, then. (unless I pick up universal/uncut wires and size/crimp them myself?)
As always...
Hey all,
I've had my 2001 Glastron SX 175 with a Mercruiser 6 cylinder 4.3L 190 HP engine going on 6 years now. I came to the realization that since owning my boat, I've never replaced my spark plug wires - and from my understanding, they're a maintenance item that usually should be replaced...
