Have a 1972 Mako C/C and would like to repower it. A 115 hp 4 stroke merc. weighs in around 390 lbs. The transom sits low now with the old motor. Think I might have to stick with a 90 hp 2 stroke. Any suggestions? Will the 90 give me the same performance as the old 115?
Thanks
Merc. 40 hp 4 cylinder. Starts good and runs fine but when you shut it off there is a sheen of gas on top of the water. Any help as to what is wrong would be great.
Thanks
S.N. OC159300 4 cylinder 40 hp.
Have adjusted the carb jets and checked the barrel adjustments on the cables. Motor will not idle and I am out of adjustment on the adjustment screw. I must be doing something wrong? Thanks
S/N OC159300. From what years will a single ram trim and tilt assembly fit on this motor? I now have a "Manual Tilt Assembly" that does not work and is hard to find parts to repair. Would like to convert to electric trim and tilt. Looking for a used unit.
Thanks
When in reverse and giving it some throttle it sounds like the lower unit is jumping out of gear. It works fine if I am in idle speed in reverse. In forward all is OK.
I have a 40 hp 2 cycle 4 clinder outboard with the manual "assisted" power lift. The assist on this does not work and I am having a hard time finding parts. When I cross over the S/N it shows up as 2 cylinder motor not a 4 cylinder. Any help as to repairs or obtaining the correct parts manual...
