I have a 1999 Mercury 2-stroke (Tracker Marine) 25HP. It's pushing a Tracker PT175 and is underpowered. I've heard you can easily convert to 30HP but have no idea how.
I have a 17.5 foot tracker aluminum boat with a seriously undersized 25HP 2-stroke engine (my local fishing hole has a HP limit). The boat & motor are 1999 models. I currently get about 15mph WOT. I put a hydroplane on the engine and that seemed to really help get the bow down.
