GOOD NEWS. . . . The PICTURE UPLOAD FUNCTION IS WORKING !!! The tech folks at the parent company have been able to remedy the issue. You can upload pictures once again. Thank you for your patience.
As car mechanic I’m used to fuel injection. But I’m in the second Mercury outboard that I had bought new, Then I’m not used to outboard problems.
I had before a 2013 Mercury 4 stroke 60 hp. In the same boat setup, 16 foot rib. Used it 2 and half years and about 200 h before selling boat. It...
Trying to help a friend.
2010 QSD 2.8 with Bravo 3 X drive. Engine, drive, gimbal were removed to replace upper swivel shaft. After that there was some damage to 3 wire drive trim sender. After service trim gauge did not work well and engine limited to 3000 rpm when testing boat on water. No...
Trying to remove a Bravo 3 outdrive. 2013 MAG 350.
Outdrive is just half inch separated. Will not come out because axle is rust and stuck in the engine coupler.
Despite trying to pull outdrive with a tractor and hammering the axle it is still bonded.
Any ideas to remove it? Beyond cutting...
2013 350 MAG, dry joint, open/sea water cooling
I'm learning about how this cooling system works and my doubts are:
What the function of the water going through the elbow? (red arrows on picture) Older engines versions usually have just the manifold cooling water flow from downside.
The...
Some time ago I've found a interesting information Google searching. But, despite trying hard, i wasn't able to found it again.
It was a list with the Mercruiser Guardian alarm strategy, regarding the engine I use, 350 MAG.
Similar to but not this one...
I had Bravoits in my 350 MAG. It was with 165 hours. It is 185 hours now.
After mechanic doing the Bravoits job I notice system was not perfect. Despite using without big issues. Usually I cruise at about 3500 rpm. Temperature is steady 154 - 158 degrees. If going above 4000 rpm it was possible...
My 2013 350 MAG has 172 hours now. About 50 hours ago had water ingestion after a sudden deceleration. Engine stalled. It was not possible to turn engine because hydrolock. After removing spark plugs and drying cylinders by turning engine with starter it started again normally. Runs smoth...
My remote control has not enough friction. It's impossible to go at 5 knots (channel allowed max. speed) without holding control lever. Pain in the ***. It will return to idle position if not hold. No problem at higher speeds.
4000 gen ii control has no external friction adjust screw.
My...
350 MAG suffered Bravoits. With 150 salt water hours. A "experienced" Mercruiser mechanic did the work to solve overheat problem.
I did not followed the work because I live far from the marina where boat is.
What I know is outdrive was removed and engine raised in order to gain access to...
140 hours / 3 years raw water cooled 2013 350 MAG started to work with high than normal temperatures. Used on salt water. Depending on the boat load and the rpm temperature is "under control". Used to be steady about 163 F before. Now with low load (3 persons) and up to 3500 rpm temperature will...
I have a 27 feet express cruiser with a 2013 300 HP 350 MAG Bravo 3 with 100 hours. Open cooling.
In normal use the engine temperature is allways between about 162 and 168. But when using engine near WOT for some minutes the temp starts to rise.
In fact I did not check the maximum achieved...
I have this remote control with a 350 MAG. I need to adjust friction because it's impossible to go slowly in the marina channel without holding the lever. Lever goes to idle if not hold.
Considering my research, friction adjustment screw is under remote control plastic bezel. I need to remove...
The starter of my 2012 350 MAG started to "slip". Starter runs but will not rotate engine. I removed starter to fix it. Problem is bench testing starter, it is just OK.
Considering some months ago engine had a hydrolock situation I suppose that probably the starting problem is flywheel ring...
