    They sure are , I dont know your motor but basically two stroke outboards at idle spark timing is at or even after tdc ,1st (roughly 1st ¼ ) part of throttle lever movement only advances spark ,then from ¼ to ¾ throttle lever movement there is a bit more spark advance and the throttle...

    Think about how you connected the jumper cables at the outboard end . Is it possible you have bypassed a poor connection ...like the main earth . I got caught out when jumper cabling a motorbike , I put the neg jumper cable on the frame instead of the battery neg and bypassed the crook battery...

    Whilst doing a solo launch I left the bung out . By the time I had parked the trailer a small crowd had gathered and I did wonder what the attraction was ....until I saw my boat with a significant amount of water in it , a quick calculation and I figured I wouldnt have time to go get the trailer...

    Imagine a rubber impeller thats a tight fit in a stainless steel housing , if its dry the friction is very high and there is 125hp driving it so its going to melt down real quick ...like in seconds.     Yeah ,I used to think I wanted a mercruiser type set up ....looked at a few , but now Im pleased I never got one , what with rusty manifolds ,water in cylinders ,impossible access ,gimbal whatsits ,salt water in the motor and all that other bollocks . Im real pleased I stuck with outboards🙂🙂

    I take 20L in a tote and a typical outing I would burn about 6-7 L. 4.2m boat ...all up inc trailer weighs 650ish kg dry , plus another 20kg for the aux motor .
