Got it, sounds good. It was Google's AI that spewed that consensus about the hours not being able to be erased or changed. I was able to finally get service records for this boat from Singleton Marine and it looks like they swapped out the ECU and had it approved by PCM.
Got it, online it was saying it's impossible to reset the hours on it so that's why I was confused. I'll have to check the hours on the Perfect Pass then and if that doesn't work maybe the dealer it was serviced at can let me know what went on with it.
5.7 GXI and DPSM with Kohler 5E Generator and Water Heater. It's also equipped with a fireboy extinguisher.
I found the owners manual on Four Winns website. Page 252 shows the schematic... Am I seeing it correctly that the purple wire lead goes also to the Fireboy Extinguisher Indicator...
Hi all,
I'm redoing the barrel connector plug on the main harness that plugs into the engine harness, the pig tail I purchased I was able to match up all the wires from the original boat harness aside from one that I want to be sure before it's reconnected. The new barrel pig tail has a...
Thanks in advance,
I have a question regarding MEFI 3/4 ECUs, I'm trying to sort out for sure what the real engine/drivetrain hours on a 2006 Nautique I bought are... The hours if I'm not mistaken on the buggy Faria Gateway gauge is 1127.7 Hours and for the hell of it I scanned the engine...
Yup, the HPFP was weak on the original fuel pump. It started up and ran without any problems right after I changed out and cycled the key.
Any recommendations for the LPFP or HPFP replacement by any chance? I'm sure there's some solid companies who make quality fuel pumps for these VPs
The LPFP has good power but the high pressure fuel pump isn't pushing out fuel as I would expect it to. The other two pumps I removed from other engines push it out like a fountain, this one I would cycle the key 2/3 before it slightly poured out of it.
I have a new chinese pump coming in to...
I checked it it's in time, I'm thinking it's a weak HPFP. 0 PSI with a gauge on top of the rail. Removed the regulator and it's barely dripping out of there cycling the key on and off. Regulator screen was slightly clogged up, only 10% of it. It's been changed out before.
I checked the HPFP on...
No, guy is doing an outboard conversion. One drive was in working shape and other XDP had a shattered lower unit from oysters apparently.
Ended up being much cheaper for an outboard conversion than pay for removal/install of inboards, one new inboard engine, and a new XDP/conversion to DSPM
One of the engines is locked up completely. Unsure of what it is. They're both very low hours.
I'll have to check but from what the seller told me is that they just unplugged the coils to the distributor but that's about it. I didn't see any markings indicating that the distributor itself was...
Hi all,
I'm having some issues starting one of the engines I bought for replacement with 111 hours.
Seller had a video of the engine running for approx 10-15 seconds. Which again does not prove anything at all.
I scanned the engine and only had a MAP sensor code which I swapped out...
Thanks got it sorted out, I grabbed another relay off a cracked engine and that ended up being shot as well. Replaced it with another and now I have 12V running to the yellow/red wire on the pump.
Do you know by chance if the electrical wiring is marine specific? I want to fix this harness as...
Yes so I had 12V on the orange/green pin. The orange wire individually only had 12V and the green did not have any voltage. It's possible the other relay I put was shot as well. I'll have to check with a new one. Getting it towed in today with the sellers other boat so I'll finally be able to...
I'll check it out and get back to you on the model Friday. Not entirely sure what it is. I just know it's a 1996 Model from the old style trim cylinders it has on it and the side mounted raw water pump.
This should be close enough to the engine I have, it's a 4.3GS model carbureted. 4.3GSPNCA...
